The concluding ceremony of the 24th Chittagong International Trade Fair(CITF)-2016 was held at Pologround Maidan (fair venue) on Friday evening .
City Mayor AJM Nasisruddin graced it as chief guest. Asstt. High commissioner of India in Chittagong Mr. Somnath Halder was present in it as special guest. President of Chittagong chamber of commerce Mahbubul Alam presided over it.
Among others, senior vice president of CCCI Nurun Newaz Selim and the vice president Syed Jamal Ahmed also spoke on the occasion. In the concluding session of the fair, 11 best pavilions were awarded with prizes. The awarded pavilions belong to Pran RFL Group, TK group, Rangpur Foundry Ltd. Akhter Furnitures Ltd, Hatil Complex ltd, Abul Khair Milk Products Ltd, OPPO Bangladesh Communications, Olympic Group, PNL Holdings Ltd, Rangpur Metal Industsries and Parnter country Thai Pavillion, fair committee sources said.
The chief guest in his deliberations requested the city dwellers to keep clean of the city and dump their house wastes in due time in the specific dustbins .He urged the public cooperation in this task as City corporation launched aware drive through miking and distribution of leaflets to keep clean the city.
CCC Mayor said the cleanliness drive will cover 41 wards in the city by next fiscal and about one thousand conservancy staff will be appointed which will require additional budget for 29 cr taka.
He thanked the CCCI for arranging such international trade fair in the port city since long and hoped for further expansion of the fair in coming days with more foreign participations. CCCI President thanked all participating organizations, law enforcing agencies, health volunnters and other govt organizations for rendering service to the successful conclusion of the fair.
