The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Secretary Dr Md Anwar Hossain Hawlader has called for building a corruption-free country through forging social resistance against corruption.
He said there is no alternative to make the country free from all sorts of corruption and all the government and non-government organizations should come forward and work together to attain the cherished goal.
The ACC Secretary came up with the observation while addressing a meeting with the divisional level officials and the corruption prevention committee members at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Rajshahi on Saturday afternoon as chief guest.
Chaired by Additional Divisional Commissioner Ziaul Haque, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Additional Deputy Inspector General of Police Joydev Kumar Bhadra and BGB Battalion Commander Lt Col Sabbir Ahmed.
Dr Anwar Hawlader said that spontaneous participation of the community and the young generation for building an anti-corruption campaign has become an urgent need for building mass-opinion against corruption.
He underlined the need for enhancing empowerment of the community people so that they can raise their voice against corruption.
Besides, he laid importance on making both the government and non-government service-delivery activities transparent and accountable for freeing those from corruption. The ACC Secretary also issued a strong note of warning that no corrupt element will go unpunished.
Dr Hawlader urged all to raise their voice against corruption unitedly to fight the long persisting social menace effectively.
“No graft suspect will be spared. All suspects will be brought to justice. So, there’s nothing for the corrupt elements to be happy,” he added.
