UNB, Dhaka :
Criticising the Prime Minister for ‘making indecent’ remarks against its party chief Khaleda Zia, BNP on Sunday urged Sheikh Hasina to concentrate on people’ welfare shunning mudslinging.
“The person who has captured the PM’s post of the current illegal regime is now making such comments which are not only devoid of political
etiquettes but also very dangerous. She is calling three-time prime minister and most popular leader Khaleda Zia a killer and pervert,” said BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
He further said, “I want to ask her which leader has been branded as a wrongheaded person by the country’s apex court. It’s you (Hasina), not Khaleda Zia. So, I urge the AL president, you please think about resolving people’s problems giving up mudslinging and indecent remarks.”
The BNP spokesman was addressing a photo exhibition programme at the Jatiya Press Club.
Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (Jasas) displayed various photographs on various activities of the party carried out since its formation, marking BNP’s 36th founding anniversary that falls on Monday.
Fakhrul said the country’s people are now in a suffocating situation due to the misrule of the current ‘unethical’ regime. “People are not safe anywhere both at home and outside.”
He alleged that the law enforcers are carrying out extrajudicial killings and making people disappeared with state patronage.
