Women activists at a post-rally discussion today laid emphasis on engaging comprehensive efforts with a changed social mindset to bring an end to repression and violence against women.
Rangpur unit of ‘Nipiron Birodhi Nari Mancha (NBNM)’ organised the discussion at Mahiganj Press Club auditorium in Rangpur city after bringing out the rally marking the Women Repression Prevention Day- 2019.
With Convener of NBNM Nandini Das in the chair, its Member-secretary Sanjida Akhter moderated the discussion.
Convener of Rangpur unit of ‘Sramik Adhikar Andolan’ Polash Kanti Nag delivered keynote speech putting emphasis on building a peaceful society free from repression and violence against women and social erosion.
Women activists and Members of NBNM Pervin Akhter, Bristi Roy, Alo Begum and Shapla Roy, among others, addressed the discussion.
The speakers stressed the need for engaging comprehensive GO-NGO efforts to stop all sorts of repression and violence against women, adolescents and children.
Pervin Akhter expressed concern over spread of unhealthy culture, drug abuse, obscene advertisements, porno websites, repression and violence against women.
Nandini Das called for launching social movement to bring an end to all sorts of social erosion to save the young generations from moral degradation in building a healthier and peaceful society.
