Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday filed case against compositor of Assistant Settlement Officer’s office in Barisal for taking bribe.
ACC identified the accused as Abu Bakkar Siddique who demanded Tk 1, 00,000 as bribe from Abdul Mannan Khan for delivering land registration documents.
Abdul Mannan Khan settled the issue with Abu Bakkar Siddique and agreed to pay Tk 10,000 as bribe to get his documents from him. Abdul Mannan Khan complained about the matter in the ACC
Divisional Office of Barisal.
According to the complaint, ACC planned to operate a trap case and formed a seven member team. Deputy Commissioner of ACC Barisal Division Md Matiur Rahman led the team and operated the trap case.
Later, Abdul Mannan Khan and the ACC team went to the compositor of Assistant Settlement office’s office of Barisal and paid bribe of Tk 10,000.
The amount was given as bribe and was discovered by the ACC team in the compositor’s table drawer.
