Community policing to curb crimes emphasised

The community policing has been bridging the police with common people on mutual trust for curbing crimes, establish social peace and preventing corruption to improve law and order situation.
Speakers said this at the coordination meeting of community policing jointly organised by Mominpur and Haridebpur union units of community
policing committees at Mominpur Girls’ High School ground under Sadar upazila on Wednesday afternoon.
The District Community Policing Coordination Committee with assistance of RDRS Bangladesh, a reputed NGO, assisted in organising the meeting with President of Mominpur unit of community policing committee Mahbub Alam Chowdhury in the chair.
The NGO assisted in arranging the meeting under its Justice Reform and
Corruption Prevention (JRCP) Project being implemented with German
Development Cooperation (GIZ) funding under assistance of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
Superintendent of Police Abdur Razzaque, ppm, attended the meeting as the chief guest while Additional Superintendent of Police Joynul Abedin and Member-secretary of District Community Policing Coordination Committee Shushanto Bhowmick attended as special guests.
Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Thana Abdul Kader Zilani, Police Inspector (Investigation) Abdul Aziz, Convener of Sadar upazila Awami League Emdadul Islam Dulu, President of Haridebpur union committee policing committee Delwar Hossain Dulal, District Manager of JRCP Project Ershad M Rasel and its Upazila Manager Tahmina Akhter also addressed.
More than 800 members and advisers of the union and ward level community policing committees of these two unions, civil society members and public representatives participated in the joint meeting and took part in the open discussion.
