Bangladesh Police chalked out elaborate programmes to observe Community Policing Day-2017 tomorrow (Saturday) apart from the decision of celebrations of the day on every ending Saturday of October from this year.
About 9,58046 members in 40,908 units of Community Policing have been working across the country since 2007.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will remain present as the chief guest in the main program tilted ‘the Police are public, the public are Police’ to be held in the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Headquarters
on Saturday.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque said this in a press briefing at his office on Thursday afternoon.
“The government has decided to observe Community Policing Day across the country every year on last Saturday of October. As part of the countrywide programme, this year’s Community Policing Day will be observed on October 28,” the IGP said.
In a query, the IGP said that all members of different units of Community Policing Forum have been working formally with the members of the public, including journalist and businessman across the country for few years.
