Committee formed for dust free city

Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul Islam said modern, time saving and workable equipment and cars are being imported to make the city roads dust free.
“We are anxious about the present condition of dust in the city. All should be aware about this,” he said.
The minister said this on Thursday while delivering his presidential speech at an inter-ministerial meeting on building a dust-free and clean Dhaka city at the conference room of the LGD at the Secretariat here, said a press release.
Tazul said the LGRD ministry will extend all-out cooperation to the city corporations, including procuring modern cars and equipments, to clean the dust from the city roads.
At the meeting, he ordered for forming a committee headed by additional secretary (urban development) of the Local Government Division (LGD) to find ways of preventing environment pollution.
Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Md Atiqul Islam, Gazipur City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Jahangir Alam and LGD Secretary Helaluddin Ahmad were present at the meeting, among others.
