The city residents around Kalatgong, Panchalaish residential areas demanded to save the UN Park popularly known as Jatisanga Park in Katalgong area under Panchalaish thana in city from the process the commercialization and sustain the natural beauty of the park.
The demand of the residents placed in the human chain formed infront of the park on Sunday under the banner of Panchalaish Residential Area Welfare Association. Huge number of residents including students, children, teachers and residential flat owners participated the human chain. The speakers in the human chain urge upon City Mayor AJMfor Nasiruddin
and the Minister for works Engr. Mosharraf Hossain to save the ancient park from the commercialization process. The human chain demanded to remain open the park for amusement of children, gymnasium for children, to arrange passage for walking of the child and mothers, arrangement of indoor games , create green afforestation around the park , prayer arrangement and arrangement of Eid jamat for Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha and closure of community centre inside the park premises.
Among others, President of Panchalash Welfare society Saidul Islam, General Secretary Shah Selim Tipu, Joint Secretary Abu Sayeed Selim, Organising Secretary Asif Ahmed, Treasurer Nazim Babu, member Noor Mohammad chairman, Prof LA Quadery were present in the human chain, a sources said.
