Eminent freedom fighter and former Vice President of Comilla Zilla Awami League and former President Muradnagar Upazilla Awami League Shafiquer Rahman died at his residence in Dhaka at 7.30 pm on Monday (Innalillahi …Rajiun), says a press release.
He was 76 years old.
He left behind his three sons, one daughter, wife and many well- wishers. His first Namaz e Janaza was held in Muradnagar Upazilla ground and 2nd janaza in Eidgah Ground on Tuesday.
He was buried at the family graveyard. Railway Minister Muzibul Haque MP, Yosuf Abdullah Harun MP and local politicians were present.
His Qulkhani will be held at his own village on 3 February 2017, on Friday.
