UNB, Comilla: At least seven people were killed and 16 others injured when miscreants hurled a petrol bomb on a bus at Jogmohonpur in Chauddagram upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway early Tuesday. The deceased could not yet be identified. Monir Hossain, assistant director of Comilla Fire Service, said a group of miscreants hurled the petrol bomb on the Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Icon Paribahan’ from Chittagong around 3:30am, leaving its seven passengers dead on the spot. The injured people were taken to Comilla Medical College Hospital and Chauddagram Health Complex. On information, four units of firefighters from Comilla Fire Service rushed to the spot and doused the fire. “The death toll from the incident may go up as the condition of many injured people were serious,” said Uttam Kumar Chatrawarty, the officer-in-charge of Chauddagram Police Station.
