A collision occurred between two foreign vessels anchored at outer berth of Chittagong Port on Sunday evening . This incident happed at Alfa Anchorage of outer berth, sources said.
Following the collision, a crack leak detected in oil tanker of the clinker laden vessel. Port sources said two vessels loaded with cement clinker and coal named MV Merri Travellor and MV Densa Jagowa respectively anchored side by side at Alfa anchorage of outer berth recently and the collision occurred on Sunday evening torning the berthing rope .
As such one vessel slightly cracked in oil tanker and split oil in water. But the own efforts, the leak was repaired immediately through removing the oil to other tanker, a sources of Ctg Port and mercantile marine department said. Deputy conservator of CPA Captain Nazmul Alam told the media that no major damage occurred in the collision of both vessels.
Principal officer of MMD Engr. Shafiqul Islam told that none yet alleged about it to us , but we heard the incident of collision. These vessels sent to Kutubdia channel from Alfa Anchorage after repair of the leaks , port sources said.
