Collision between two vessels at outer berth of Chittagong Port happened on Saturday night . Immediate after the incident Mercentile MarineDeparrtment , Chittagong formed a probe committee to investigate the matter.
The collision occuredbetween the Bangaldeshi flag vessel owned by Brave Royal shipping company MV Shahriar Jahan and the Cyprus flag vessel MV Delta Jagoar on Saturday night. Port sources said, MV Jahan was waiting at outer berth of the port with import cargo s aimed at entering the inner port berths but the MV Della pushed him while leaving the port discharging the cargos leaving the anchor chain torn and minor damanged caused in two vessels, sources said.
Port authority detained the both vessels instantly. To enquire the matter , a two member probe committee headed by Captain Faisal Azim was constituted . The members of the committee visited both the vessels on Sunday. Atlas shipping is the agent of MV Delta, sources said.
