A college student was allegedly stabbed to death by some unidentified miscreants in the city’s Green Road area on Thursday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Rakibul Islam Munna, 19. He passed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination from Laboratory School and College this year.
Quoting the victim’s relatives, Bachhu Mia, Sub-Inspector (SI) and In-Charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost, said, “Munna went to Mostofa Lane in Green Road area in afternoon for mediating a feud between his younger brother Riyad and one Akash over a cricket match.
At one stage, rival faction stabbed Munna, leaving him critically injured, the police official said. He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 7:00pm where he succumbed to his injuries, the SI said.
The body was kept at DMCH morgue for an autopsy, he said.
