A college student who was stabbed allegedly by some of his friends in the city’s Uttara area on Wednesday evening died early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Riazul Haque, a Class-XII student of Adamjee Cantonment College in the capital and son of Jasim Uddin of Uttara Sector-7.
Police said, Riazul had an altercation with his friends near his residence around 7:30pm on Wednesday.
At one stage, they stabbed him with knives indiscriminately, leaving him injured.
The attackers themselves took Riazul to a local hospital after the incident. Later, he died inside an ambulance in the early hours of Thursday while being shifted to another hospital.
On information, police recovered the body from the ambulance around 3am. However, the attackers managed to flee the scene.
Contacted, officer-in-charge of Uttara West Police Station Ali Hossain said a group of 10-12 juveniles were involved in the incident and three of them have been identified. “We’re trying to arrest them.”
