A college student was killed by robbers during a robbery incident at Noagaon village in Sarail upazila early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Ratna,18, a first year honours student at Islampur Kazi Shafiqul Islam College.
Local people said a gang of robbers stormed the house of Osman Mia and kept the house inmates hostage at gunpoint in the dead of night.
Later the robbers looted valuables including gold ornaments and cash from the house.
The robbers also hit Ratna and three other house inmates with sharp weapons as they screamed for help, leaving Ratna dead on the spot and others injured.
