UNB, Comilla :A college boy was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants at Dirghobhumi village in Brahmanpara upazila early Sunday.The deceased was identified as Ariful Islam Sumon,17, second year student of Mosharraf Hossain Chowdhury Degree College and son of Abu Taher, a resident of the village. Officer-in-charge of Brahmanpara Police Station SM Badiuzzaman said a gang of miscreants attacked Sumon in the area when he was going to the upazila town at about 10:30pm. The attackers stabbed Sumon indiscriminately and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to the upazila health complex from where he was shifted to Comilla Medical College Hospital. Later, he succumbed to his injures at about 12:30am. The reason behind the murder could not be known immediately, the OC added.
