A college student died after being electrocuted while going to irrigate the Aman seed at Charbande village of Bhati Langarpara in Sreebardi upazila of Sherpur district on Sunday morning. His uncle Anwar Hossain was also injured seriously.
The deceased was identified as Manjurul Islam (20) son of Manu Miah at Charbande village in Langarpara of Sreebardi upazila of the district. He was a HSC second year student of Sherpur Govt. College.
Police and familial sources said Manjurul and his uncle Anwar went to irrigate the aman seed in the morning. When there was a problem with the electric connection of the irrigation motor, Manjurul went to fix it and got entangled in the electric wire and died on spot. Anwar Hossain injured when he went ahead to save Manjurul. Relatives rushed to the spot and took Anwar hurriedly to nearby hospital.
Dulal Mia, chairman of Kharia Kazirchar Union Parishad said at the request of the family, I am trying to contact with the concerned authorities to bury the dead body without autopsy.
