A college student reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself with the room ceiling at Madhyapara in the district town on Thursday night.
Quoting relatives, Mainur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station, said Golam Anwar Russel, 20, an accounting student of Brahmanbaria Government College and son of Gola Kibria, a resident of Medda area, went to his uncle’s house in Madhyapara and killed himself by hanging there around 11:30 pm.
Getting no response from Russel, his uncle informed the matter to his father who called in police.
Police recovered the body of Russel breaking open the door and sent it to sadar hospital morgue.
Police suspected that Russel might have committed suicide over a love- related matter, said the OC.
