The 8th First Security Islami Bank College Rugby Competition began at the Physical Education College Ground in the city’s Mohammadpur on Thursday.
Secretary of Youth and Sports Harunur Rashid inaugurated the rugby meet by releasing the balloons as the chief guest, while Deputy-Managing Director of First Security Islami Bank Limited Md Mostafa Khaer was with him as the special guest. Vice-President of Bangladesh Rugby Union (BRU) Abdullah Al-Zahir Shapan, General Secretary of BRU Mousum Ali and Joint-Secretary of the Union Sayed Ahmed were present at the time.
Government Bangla College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Maestro Crown College, Adamjee Cantonment College, Dhaka Imperial College, Saint Gregory’s High School & College won their respective matches on the opening day (Thursday).
Meanwhile, BAF Shaheen College made a 0-0 draw with Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Public College.
