College principal sent to jail for violating woman

Principal of Islamia Degree College at Kobai union under Bakerganj upazila of Barishal was sent to jail after 6-week anticipatory bail when he surrendered to the court on Thursday.
Abu Shamim Azad, Judge of “Nari O Shishu Nirjaton Daman (Women and Children Repression Prevention) Tribunal” Barishal rejecting prayer for extension of bail of the accused ordered to send Shahidul Islam, Principal of the college, to jail.
Ajibor Rahman, bench clerk of the court, acknowledging the facts, said a woman as complainant lodging a case alleged that while sharing a ride on a tempo co-passenger Principal Shahidul Islam collecting mobile number contacting with her giving love proposal allured her to marry and giving employment in the institution.
Then the accused going to the house of the complainant several times and created physical relationship giving assurances to marry the victim.
At 10:00 PM on December 13, 2019, the accused again going to the vacant house of the victim and violated her.
But after that the accused denying his prior given promise threatened to flash the private relationship on different media.
Then the victim as complainant lodged a case with Bakerganj police station on June 22, 2020 and the accused received 6-week anticipatory bail from High Court on September 23 on condition of submitting bail bond by appearing before the lower court.
Then Iftekhar Ahmed, Senior Judicial Magistrate of Barishal, confirmed that 6-week bail up to November 4.
On Thursday November 5, 2020, when the accused appearing before the trial court appealed to extend his bail, the tribunal rejecting that ordered to send the accused to jail.
