Police recovered the body of a final year student of Eden Mohila College from city’s Rampura area on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Shampa Biswas, 22, daughter of Khagendra Nath, from Shalikha upazila of Magura.
Her body was found in a house on the Titas Road in Rampura area at 10:30.
According to Beauty Rani, cousin of the deceased, Shampa had a love affair with a
man. Failing to achieve the target, sources said, she committed suicide. It is noted that she took sleeping pills also a few days ago. As a result, Shampa became sick.
Humayun Kabir, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Rampura Police Station told the media that Shampa committed suicide by hanging.
The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy.
