A local college girl committed suicide hanging with the ceiling fan with scurf inside her room of her residence in the city’s Dholaikhal area on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Shampa Akhter, 20, daughter of Abdul Gani, police said.
Quoting the relatives, Dhaka Medical College and
Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost In-charge Mozammel Haque confirmed the matter and said that Shampa committed suicide in their residence after returning from college around 2:30pm.
The family members rescued Shampa from the room breaking open the door and rushed her to the DMCH. But on-duty doctors declared her dead, he said.
The body has been sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy, the police official said.
