UNB, Dhaka :
A college girl reportedly committed suicide in the city’s Green Road area under Kalabagan police station on Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Lamiya Noor, 18, a 2nd year student of Dhaka City College. Daughter of Nur Mohammad, Lamiya was residing at 1/D Green Corner at Green Road.
Police, quoting family members of the victim, said Lamiya’s body was found hanging from the ceiling of her bedroom at about 6:00 pm.
Inmates of her house rescued her and rushed her to nearby Green Life Hospital where she was pronounced dead, said Sub-inspector Asgar of Kolabagan police
station. Police recovered the body and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital at night for postmortem. No case was filed in this connection as of Wednesday morning.
