The body of a college student who went missing in the Padma River on Sunday was found floating at Charkhidirpur in the district town on Wednesday.
Farhad Hossain, senior station officer of RajshahiFire Service and Civil Defence, said the body of Asif Al Masud was found floating, four kmsaway from Shimla where he went missing, around 11:30 am.
Shahadat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station, said the body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Earlier, Asif, a first-year student of Rajshahi Model School and College hailing from Naogaon, along with his five friends was visiting the Padma River by a boat on Sunday noon. The college boy accidentally fell from it near a shoal of mid-Padma and went missing.
