State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury stressed on sincere and collective works of the government employees to resolve the disputes prevailing at different ferry and launch ghats.
” It is possible to solve the problems if the workers of BIWTA and departments of Local Government work together,” the state minister said this on Thursday while chairing a meeting at his ministry office.
The meeting was informed that there is a dispute between the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) and the local government departments regarding the management of 24 ferry and launch points in different places of the country.
Shipping Secretary M. Abdus Samad, Divisional Commissioner of Chattogram M Abdul Mannan, Additional Secretary of Local Government Department Sohrab Hossain and BIWTA Chairman Commodore M Mahbub-Ul-Islan were present in the meeting.
