Responsive and positive role by all quarters is very important for maintaining peace and social harmony everywhere in the society towards taking forward the country collectively, speakers at a discussionin Rajshahi said yesterday.
For the sake of building the nation as an independent and peaceful motherland, all of us should work together, they pointed out. The observation came at a roundtable styled “Our Duties towards establishing social harmony” held at Cookie Jar restaurant in the city. Peace Pressure Group (PPG) and Citizens for Good Governance (CGG) jointly organized the discussion in association with the Hunger Project. PPG Coordinator Mijanur Rahman addressed the discussion as focal person with CGG local unit president Prof Dr Jalal Uddin Sarder in the chair. During his keynote presentation, Dilip Kumar Sarker, Central Coordinator of CGG, narrated the aspects of maintaining peace and social harmony coupled with brightening image of the country at both home and abroad. Principal of Police Lines School and College Prof Golam Mawla, political leaders Abul Kalam Azad and Azizul Haque, Deputy Registrar of Rajshahi University Alamgir Sarker, Paba Upazila Chairman Ashraful Haque, CGG local unit secretary Dr Hemayetul Islam and President of District Women Business Forum Rojety Naznin also spoke.
