Staff Reporter :A gang of unidentified miscreants blasted a cocktail in front of the Inspector General’s (Prisons) office at Jail Directorate in the city’s Bakshibazar area on Sunday morning. However, none was injured in the blast, police said. Quoting witnesses, Chawk Bazar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Azizul Haque confirmed the matter and said that three to four miscreants riding on two motorcycles hurled cocktails in front of the IG office around 9:45am. One cocktail was blasted but another did not. The miscreants fled the scene soon after explodingthe crude bomb. The cocktail hit the security wall of the office of IG prisons, Brig Gen Syed Iftekhar Uddin, the OC said. Police are looking into the incident, he added.
