Director General of Bangladesh Coastguard Rear Admiral Aurarngzeb Chowdhury on Wednesday said that they are working to take Bangladesh forward under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership.
He also said Coastguard has seized smuggled goods worth about Taka 219 crore 62 lakh by conducting raid in different coastal areas in the last month.
The smuggled goods among yaba, foreign alcohol, cigarettes, sarees, current net and jhatka.
Besides, the Coastguard members arrested 207 fishermen for their illegal activities and rescued 71 abducted fishermen, he added.
