Bangladesh Coastguard in west zone distributed relief materials including food, cash money, masks and hand sanitizers among the destitute people recently in different coastal areas including Sundarbans to mitigate their hardship caused by the outbreak of coronavirus.
The coastguard personnel of west zone handed over the relief materials among the coastal poor people through its station and outpost at Nolian areas and sprayed disinfectant on various streets in different areas in Sundarbans and conducted campaign with distribution of leaflets to prevent spreading of community transmission of COVID-19, an official press release said.
The press release also said the coastguard personnel are trying to make people understand about the importance of social distancing.
