UNB, Barisal :
A coal-laden cargo vessel capsized in the Kirtonkhola River following a collision with a waterbus in Charbaria area on Saturday.
Assistant Director of Barisal Fire Service Faruk Hossain said the cargo vessel sank in the river after collision with waterbus ‘Greenline-2’ around 4pm.
However, all the passengers of the waterbus were rescued while the crew of the cargo vessel managed to swim ashore. On information, a diver team of the fire service rushed in and started their operation to locate the sunken vessel, said Faruk Hossain. No casualties were reported immediately.
