Coaching center blast victim dies at DMCH

Staff Reporter :A schoolgirl succumbed to burn injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday after five days of the blast in a coaching center in the city’s Rampura area. The victim has been identified as Ashrafi Akter, 8, a student of class three in a local school. The two other victims have been identified as Shila Akter, 13, a student of the coaching center, and Ashraful Islam, 28, a teacher of the institute. They are now undergoing treatment at DMCH’s Burn Unit, police said.  Quoting the deceased’s relatives and doctors, DMCH’s Police Outpost In-Charge and Sub-Inspector (SI) Mozammel Haque said that Ashrafi breathed her last at DMCH Burn Unit at about 2:00pm. The police official said that Ashrafi was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition on November 7. Eighty percent of her body was burnt in the blast, which originated from a firebox.  He said that the body had been handed to the family members of the victim. The incident took place at 21/B on the Ulan Road of West Rampura in Dhaka on November 7.
