Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said the gas filling stations on different highways of the country will supply CNG gas to CNG run auto-rickshaws upto 9 am instead of 8 am immediately .
He disclosed it while addressing the leaders of CNG Autorickshaw Owners association and transport trade unions at Chittagong circuit house auditorium yesterday morning .
Chittagong District Administration has organize d the views exchanging meeting with the transport leaders. He categorically warned against the easy bike, battery run rickshaws running in the city and said these transports should be prohibited in city roads to avoid the road incidents.
To bring the discipline in the transport sector, a 4-members committee headed by city Mayor AJM Nasiruddin formed in the meeting.
The minister praised the role of city mayor in evicting the bill boards from the city and hoped the discipline in transport sector will also be established under the leadership of the city mayor. City Mayor in the meeting disclosed the date for meeting the transport leaders on September 21 next. Among others, MA Latif MP, Shamsul Hoque chowdhury MP, additional secretary of the concerned ministry Md. Faruk Jalil, district Police Super Nure Alam Mina, BRTA Deputy director Md. Shahidullah, and the leaders of the transport associations and trade union bodies were present on the occasion.
