The government has decided to keep CNG filling stations shut for four hours starting from 6 pm every day to increase the supply of gas for power generation. Mir Mohammad Aslam Uddin, Deputy Chief Information Officer of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, told the media on Wednesday night.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources in a statement said that measures have been adopted to reduce the potential pressure on the gas distribution network during the daily peak hours of electricity demand. Gas supply to CNG stations will remain shut for four hours starting from 6 pm to 10 pm from September 19 during the daily peak hours of electricity.
