A 6 member delegation team from the National Audit Office of the Peoples Republic of China (CNAO) visited Supreme Audit Institution of Bangladesh, (SAI, Bangladesh) on Monday. The Chinese team is headed by CHEN Jian, Deputy Auditor General, CNAO, said a press release.
Other members of the team are HU Jiajun, Director General, Department of Audit Quality Assurance, JIN Ying, Director General (Resources and Environment Audit Bureau), JIAO Qiang, Director General (Transport Audit Bureau), PENG Xinlin, Deputy Director General, Department of Laws and Regulations and ZHANG Jun, Program Officer, Department of International Cooperation. They meet with the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury and sit on a discussion at Audit Bhaban, Kakrail, with the high officials of SAI, Bangladesh. The topic of the discussion was “Legal System of the Government Audit and Audit Quality Management System of SAI Bangladesh and China.” The keynote paper was presented by PENG Xinlin. The officials exchange views on the effective audit process to ensure accountability and transparency and proper utilization of the government money. They make special focus on the areas of mutual co-operations in order to improve the audit quality assurance. Controller General of Accounts Abul Foyez Md. Abid, ADG Md. Jahurul Islam, Senior Deputy Auditor General Mohammad Iqbal Hossain and members of the SAI, Bangladesh attended the meeting. Chief speaker says in his speech that the OCAG performs oversight functions of the financial operations of the State. The office provides unbiased, objective assessment of whether the public resources are responsibly and effectively managed within the approved budget to achieve intended results in an effective, efficient and economical manner.
