Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim said the government will establish Chittagong Medical University (CMU) beside Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) to create more specialist physicians for improving the country’s healthcare services.
“Land has already been chosen for establishing the CMU,” he said while addressing as the chief guest an Iftar Mahfil at a community centre in the city, said an official release on Friday. The minister said the government has taken initiatives, including modernizing medical equipments of the CMCH and providing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and city scan machines, for improving the services of the college. Among others, Chittagong City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin and the local Lawmaker Ziauddin ahmed Bablu were present on the occasion.
