A two-member probe committee headed by Additional Deputy commissioner(Bandar) Mr.Arefin Jewel by the authority of Chittagong Metropolitan Police recently to investigate the robbery, rape case in Karnaphuli thana area and negligence of the policemen in it The other member of the probe committee is Md. Jahedul Isl am ,Assistant . Commissioner of Police (Karnaphuli zone).
A Chittagong court has also asked the Officer Incharge of Karphuli Police Station Syedul Mostafa to euxplain why they had delayed to record the case. Local police arrested three people while as many were arrested after the PBI took charge of the case.
Sama, 45, the alleged mastermind behind the robbery, gave a confessional statement to a court earlier on Wednesday, CMP Assistant Commissioner Nirmalendu Bikash Chakrabarty told media on Wednesday .
Additional Commissioner of Police(Crime) Saleh Md. mmTanvir told that probe committee has been asked to submit the probe report immediately after visiting the sp ot physically .
