Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police Abdul Jalil Mandol steps his hand for cleaning the drains in the city after ending his road cleaning campaign. He inaugurated the drain cleaning program in front of Chittagong Shopping complex on Friday morning participated by more than 500 police members .
In his inaugural speech said the misery of Chittagong is waterlogging and this waterlogging is caused due to non-functioning of drains and canals. He said if we want to keep the city free from waterlogging, we should clean the drains regularly.
He also advised the city dwellers to keep the wastes in specific place instead of throwing in the drains and if the dwellers are awared about the cleanliness, the waterlogging situation will not create further.
The drain cleaning program continued for 2 hours from 10 am . Among others, Addl police commissioner(Admn,Traffic) Shahdidur Rahman, Addl. Police commissioner (crimes) Banaj kumar Majumder, Deputy police commissioner (traffic) Masud ul hasan, DCP(DB) Kusum Dewan, DCP(hqs) Faruk Ahmed, DCP(Port) Harunur Rashid, DCP(North) Paritosh Ghosh, DCP(West) Sanjay Kumar Kundu and other senior police officials participated the drain cleaning program, sources said
