Chittagong Medical College Hospital Officers-Employees Sangram Oikya( CMCH KO) Parishad staged demonstration at the main gate of the medical college yesterday from 11 am to 12 noon protesting the declaration of upgrading of the CMCH into Medical Varsity .
The Parishad leaders in the rally declared token strike for one hour everyday from tomorrow until the govt decision is changed .
Officers and employees irrespective of status joined the demonstration. President of the Parishad Romana Akhter presided over the demonstration rally.
Among others Member secretary Ratan Ali Miah, Joint secretary Rukma Chowdhury, General Secretary of the Diploma Nurse Association Ratan Kumar Nath spoke on the occasion.
The speakers in the demonstration rally called upon the concerned authority to suspend the decision of turning CMCH into a autonomous body.
The Parishad leaders also demanded a separate Medical University in the port in separate venue than the existing one.
Mentionable that Oikya Parishad also staged demonstration in college campus on Wednesday against the declaration of Medical University.
On the other hand Public Health Rights Committee of Chittagong formed human chain infront of Chittagong Press club on Wednesday against the declaration of Medical University.
Public Health Rights Rakka Committee , Chittagong formed a human chain in front of Chittagong Press club yesterday evening protesting the declaration for upgrading Chittagong Medical College into Chittagong Medical University.
