CMCH interns withdraw strike after 4 days

Interns of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), who went on work abstention demanding punishment of the attackers on their fellows, withdrew their strike on Sunday.
This decision was taken at a meeting in presence of CMCH principal Prof. Shahana Akhtar, five police officers and heads of different CMCH departments.
CMCH Director Brigadier General Humayun Kabir said all the demands have been met in consultation with the interns.
One of their demands was to arrest the outsiders involved in the clash.
“They have given three days for it. Since the case has already been filed, it is expected that police will take legal steps.”
Member Secretary of the Intern Doctors’ Association Tajwar Rahman said, “We have withdrawn the strike for now. If the attackers are not arrested within three days, we will go for strike again.”
On Tuesday night five people, including two interns, were injured in a clash between two groups of Chhatra League. The interns went on work abstention on Wednesday protesting the attack.Two cases have been filed over the clash.
