CMCH intern doctors postpone strike

The intern doctors of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) postponed strike on Saturday morning as the authorities assured them of fulfilling their demands.
Dr Md Habibur Rahman, joint secretary of CMCH Intern Doctors’ Association told Dhaka Tribune they decided to postpone their strike following assurances from the authorities concerned to fulfill their demands.
“We will resume our strike if necessary legal and academic actions are not taken against the attackers by 1am on Monday,” Dr Rahman added.

The intern doctors at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) went on an indefinite strike on Thursday night protesting against assault on their fellows.
According to the CMCH Intern Doctors’ Association, currently 86 intern doctors are on duty at the hospital.
The patients will suffer immensely if the strike is enforced amid the coronavirus situation.
