RANGPUR: Parliament member (MP) from reserved constituency Advocate Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia urged people to vote for boat again to continue the country’s development as she distributed clothes allocated by the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund among distressed women and children. “Sheikh Hasina believes in works, but not in words and has dedicated herself to welfare and progress of the poor and distressed people,” Dalia said in a function arranged at her Guptapara residence here on Sunday night as the Chief Guest.She distributed sarees and dresses allocated from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to over 100 poor and distressed women and children on the occasion as saying Prime Minsiter (PM) Sheikh Hasina always does works for overall welfare of the country. The lawmaker said the greater Rangpur region was a ‘monga’-stricken area once where the poor suffered a lot due to abject poverty for lack of jobs and livelihoods during the lean period of ‘Aswin’ and Kartik’ months every year even a decade ago. “But, the present government has factually turned the region into a fast-developing area through conducting massive uplift activities with social safety net programmes for the poor,” she said, reports BSS.
