A cloth shop at Bhasa Bazar within Dhopakhali Union Parishad under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat was completely gutted when it caught fire from an electricity short circuit on Wednesday at noon (at 1-30 pm) at the time of the absent of its owner. It is learnt from Tarapada Saha, the owner of the shop that on the day at noon (at 1 pm) he closed the shop and went home for taking the mid day meal. But by this time it caught the fire from an electricity short circuit originated in the shop (following an electricity fault). Being informed of the matter he rushed to the spot and found that the fire was out of control. Then with the help of the locals and other shop-keepers the fire was brought under control after a long fighting for more than 2 hours. But by this time cloth and all other materials of the shop were burnt to ashes. The loss of fire is primarily estimated more than Tk 4 lakh.
