Waste cleaning at daytime is disturbing the city residents acutely.
The employees from the waste management offices of two City Corporations are frequently removing waste from roads and lanes during office hours.
The school going students and the office employees suffer most at that time as it spreads unbearable stink in the air.
The High Court ordered on October 16 in 2017 the city corporations to remove waste from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am in the morning.
But nowadays the employees of both the city corporations are ignoring the order. They remove waste at daytime.
“It is very much unacceptable matter that the cleaners clean roads and roadside dustbins at daytime frequently. It creates severe odor which spreads sharply in the air. We suffer for the stink and parts of the waste left on roads and adjacent areas,” said Abdul Latif Munna, resident of Gendaria in the capital Dhaka.
He said, “The cleaners are found collecting waste from the road side
dustbins just when we used to go to schools to keep kids there.”
“Cleaners leave serious stink whenever they clean the dustbins. The children are being victims easily,” said, Abdul Aziz a Jurain resident who has two of his school babies at Wari area in the city at 11:00 am.
Other guardians from the City International School and College on Gendaria Campus also expressed their bitter experience like Abdul Aziz.
They alleged, every day the city corporations’ cleaners are found to clean the roads and the dustbins around 10:00am.
It is done at Farmgate, Mirpur, Tejgaon, Gulshan, Paltan, Shantinagar, Bashabo, Mugda, Malibagh, Moghbazar and Panthapath and other areas also.
