A five-day long exposition with a number of awards earned globally by the celebrated flutist Ustad Azizul Islam along with his solo flute recital on classical music is taking place from Friday at the Nalinikanto Bhattashali Gallery of the National Museum.
Honorable Minister for Cultural Affairs Mr. Asaduzzaman Noor, MP inaugurated the five-day long flute fiesta in presence of noted social and cultural icons and media at 4-30 pm that afternoon. In his speech he said, I am really glad to see the trouble the organizers took in order to present the veteran classical artist in it full view making an exhibition of his lifelong achievements home and abroad besides giving us an opportunity to once again relish his magical flute. I pay my respect to the artist and hope he would live a long life and give us more similar opportunities in coming days.
RAM Ubaydul Moktadir MP presided over the inauguration session that opened with his welcome speech. Special guests present at the auspicious occasion were artist and puppeteer Mustafa Monowar, DG of Bangla Academy Shamsuzzaman Khan, DG of National Museum Faizul Latif Chowdhury, VC of Kazi Nazrul Islam University Prof Mohit Ul Alam, VC of the University of Health Sciences Liaquat Ali and noted playwright M Hamid. Besides, present among others were golden boy of bangla music the legendary Lucky Akhand, ex-VC of Jahangirnagar University Prof Anwar Hossain, noted lyricist Kaosar Ahmed Chowdhury and Kamrul Ahsan Khan from Bangladesh Environmental Network.
Ustad Azizul Islam then handed over a gift pack containing a flute inscribed with the artist’s autograph and his DVD album released until now to each of the dignified guests. Givency Hotel as well as Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) provided special support in making this five-day long flute festival a success.
In the field of classical music, Ustad Azizul Islam is noted a leading figure all over the subcontinent and beyond. He had mesmerized audience from all corners of the globe with his magical performance and in turn awarded with numerous honor and recognitions. The 5-day long exhibition provides a rare opportunity for us all to see them and celebrate the success of the artist.
Honorable Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, MP will be Chief Guest on the closing session of the show on 23rd January Monday. Special Guests on that day would be VC of Dhaka University Prof AAMS Arefin Siddiqui, Chairman of UGC Abdul Mannan and Chairman of National Museum Hashem Khan. Noted cultural figure Kamal Lohani will preside over the closing session. The exhibition shall remain open for all on 24th January from 9am in the morning till 6pm in the evening.
