A man was killed while his son injured on Tuesday in a clash over a game in Gazipur.
The incident occurred in Thailkur under the Gazipur City Corporation, said Jaidebpur Police Station’s Sub-Inspector Md Shafiqul Islam.
The deceased was identified as Motaleb Mia, 39. The injured, his son Humayun Kabir, 19, had been beaten up by the
opponents. According to SI Islam, the fracas was over a game of carom. Kabir was playing ‘Sajib’, ‘Limon’ and four when an argument began and they started thrashing him.
Motaleb Mia rushed to his son’s rescue when Sajib, Limon and the others attacked him.
Police rescued the victims and rushed them to the Gazipur Sadar Hospital where the doctors pronounced Mia dead. No arrests have been so far, said the police officer.
