The Baitul Mukarram area has become a battlefield over the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bangladesh for celebration programme of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.
Islamist groups clashed with police as they tried to disperse after Jumu’ah prayers at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital’s Paltan area on Friday (March 26th).

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the police are on alert in the platoon area centering on Modi’s visit. Besides, local Awami League leaders and workers are also in the field.
