The news item titled ‘What ministers, leader say’ along with a photo of Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud was published on the back page of The New Nation on March 22 issue erroneously.
In the news item the speech of Dr Hasan Mahmud was inadvertantly mentioned as “Bangladesh is better prepared to prevent coronavirus than the developed countries.”
In a clarification the ministry said in fact, the minister had said, “The government has whole-heartedly taken many intense steps to prevent coronavirus and Bangladesh situation is still better than many developed countries.”
