CJ waiting for written complaints on court irregularities

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain on Sunday said that he is eagerly waiting for written complaints about the irregularities and corruptions happening in the Supreme Court from the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President.
“If the complaints are found in written then we will remove those unitedly, he said.
The Chief Justice was speaking as chief guest at a commemorating function at the Supreme Court Bar building in the city. The associates of Barrister Shawkat Ali Khan arranged this memorial meeting.
“Barrister Shawkat Ali Khan had landed in jail for the dignity of this court. So, his commemorating function will be successful and effective if we can be able to remove all the irregularities and corruptions of this court.”
“I asked the Bar President to inform me the irregularities of the Supreme Court when he first met me formally after taking the charge of the Chief Justice. He assured me that he would inform me about the irregularities in written. Now, I am eagerly waiting for written complaints about the corruptions happening in the Supreme Court from the Bar President. If the complaints found in written then we would remove this unitedly,” the Chief Justice said.
Remembering the departed soul of lawyer Shawkat Ali, he said, “Shawkat Ali was practicing in this bar when I got membership. I had a personal communication with him. He was a man of personality.”
Senior lawyer Dr Kamal Hossain, who was also present in the programme, said, “Who fought for justice and rule of law. Barrister Shawkat Ali is one of them. He is an icon for the young lawyers.”
Barrister Rehan Hossain, the grandson of Barrister Shawkat Ali, presided over the function. Senior lawyer Barrister Jamiruddin Sircar, Barrister M Amir-ul Islam, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, SCBA President advocate Zainul Abedin and Secretary Barrister A M Mahbub Uddin Khokan, SCBA former Secretary S M Rezaul Karim were present in the programme.
Barrister Shawkal Ali Khan, who was also a freedom fighter, born in 1926 at Laohati village of Delduar Police Station in Tangail district. He started his law profession in 1957 and became one of the founders of the Constitution of Bangladesh. He was elected as the Member of Parliament in 1972.
Barrister Shawkat Ali was also the President of the Supreme Court Bar Association and Treasurer of the Bangladesh Awami League.
