Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha will travel to Canada and Japan from September 10-21, said an official notice.
The notice was issued by the registrar of the Appellate Division on Sunday.
The Chief Justice will stay in Canada from September 10 to September 17 to visit his ailing daughter living there, according to the notice,
On September 17, he will off to Japan from Canada to attend the Conference for the Chief Justices of Asia and the Pacific at the invitation of the Chief Justice of Japan.
The conference will be held in Tokyo on September 18- 21.
The notice said the Chief Justice’s wife, Shreejukta Sushma Sinha, and Appellate Division’s registrar Md Zakir Hossain will leave Dhaka on September 17 to accompany the Chief Justice during his Japan visit.
The Chief Justice and his entourages are scheduled to return to Dhaka on September 22.
The notice also added that the Supreme Court will be on long vacation for 37 days from August 27 to October 2.
